Max.Temperature and System Configuration:
OTF-1500X-II-R60 is a high temperature two-zone splittable rotary tube furnace. It is designed for synthesizing inorganic compounds with better uniformity at a ultra-high temperature up to 1500ºC. This furnace can be upgraded to 1600ºC Max. with Kathal 1650 grade SiC heating elements  ( Note: The furnace updated to two zones from March 18. 2015 with P/N OTF-1500X-II-R60 )

  • Double shell casing with three cooling fans.
  • 1500ºC grade or 1650 grade SiC heating element.
  • High purity alumina fibrous insulation for max. energy saving.
  • Split cover enables faster cooling and easy operation.

  • 16 pcs 1650ºC grade silicon carbide rod (12mm Dia. x 150mm heating  x  415mm length)
  • The rods are considered consumables and won't be covered by the warranty. Order more at the link above,
    • 1500°C Max for continuous heating.
    • 1600°C Max for < 1 hours heating.
  • 1650ºC grade Silicon carbide rod is very brittle, so it will be shipped separately from the furnace. Customers are required to follow our video instruction to install the heating elements by themselves.

  • Two 30 segments programmable PID digital temperature controller (click the pic to enlarge)
  • Two built-in S type thermocouples
Note: To achieve full computer temperature control, please use our MTS-02 control module.
We will install and test the control module before shipping, so we recommend you to order the module with a PC and let us configure the whole system for you. For more information, please click here.

Processing Tube & Sealing
  • Two processing tubes are included:
    • One Alumina processing tube with central block zone: 60mm OD x 54mm ID x 1200mm L with a max. working temperature of 1500ºC (Pic.1)
    • An 80 mm Dia. version alumina tube is available at extra cost (Pic. 2)
    • One quartz tube with larger  (100mm OD x 280mm L) central container 60mm OD x 1200 mm L  at max. 1100ºC working temperature (Pic. 3)
    • One pair of 60mm SS sealing flange with needle valves and rotatable gas connector is included for immediate use
  • Optional:  Ni-Based super-alloy100 mm Dia. tube is available at extra cost for Max. 1100ºC @0.4 Mpa ( Pic. 4)

Gas Fitting
  • Inlet Fitting: Elbow push-in connector for 6mm O.D tube
  • Outlet Fitting: Elbow push-in connector for 12mm O.D tube
Continuous Powder Feeding & Retrieving System

  • The automatic powder feeder is mounted on the feeding system support via a feeding swivel coupling with pressure gauge. (Pic 1-3)
  • Feed rate adjustable by the potentiometer knob, 97cm^3/min max.
  • One stainless steel tank is installed on the other end of processing tube to gather the fired powder without exposure to air. (Pic. 4)
  • One Alumina processing tube (60mm OD x 54mm ID x 1200mm L) with gear is included. (Pic. 5-6)

Warranty One year limited warranty with lifetime support (Consumable parts such as processing tubes, o-rings, and heating elements are not covered by the warranty, please order the replacement at related products below.)

Application Notes
  • The concept of continuous power feeding and processing can be realized by the use of Magnetic Fluid Sealed Swivel Coupling in line with Volumetric Feeder and Rotary Furnace. Please view the assembling approach diagram and video in below.

  • The tube furnaces with quartz tube are designed for using under vacuum and low pressure < 0.2 bar / 3 psi / 0.02 MPa
  • Attention: A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on gas cylinder to limit the pressure to below 3 PSI for safe operation. Click here to learn the installation of a gas regulator.
  • Vacuum limit definition for all quartz tube furnaces: * Vacuum pressures may only be safely used up to 1000°C
