GSL-1800X-PGEP is a versatile synthetic system designed for nanostructured oxide materials. Three major modules (Ultrasonic Enhanced Bubbler, Tube Furnace, and Electrostatic Precipitator) are employed on three processing steps including aerosol generation, thermal decomposition, and nanopowder collection. Such a system enables advanced synthetic method that provides control over particle size, morphology, nano/microstructure.

SPECIFICATIONS
System Structure

  • Aerosol Generation: 2.4MHz Ultrasonic Enhanced Bubbler can "evaporate" catalyst liquid with literally no heat generated. A stainless steel liquid collector connects inline with the ultrasonic bubble can prevent condensing liquid from streaming into the furnace tube chamber. 
  • Thermal Decomposition: Tube Furnace can be heated up to 1800C maximum. By passing the droplets flux across the temperature and atmosphere regulated firing zone, chemical, and physical conversion processes proceed.  
  • Nanopowder Collection: 30KV, 2'' O.D tubular designed electrostatic precipitator can effectively collect nano size particles from the carrier gas flow

  • Brand new laptop with Microsoft Window 10 and Microsoft Office 2013 (30 days free trial) for immediate use.
  • Labview Based Temperature Control System enables the user to edit temperature profile and manage heat-treatment recipe for MTI furnaces.
  • Note: Due to the complexity of the controller operation, we strongly suggest customers to purchase this PC control kit along with the furnace and our engineers will have the software & hardware pre-installed. Please note that this PC control kit is not for sale individually.
Processing Tube
  • Premier grade high purity Al2O3 ceramic tube is included for operation @ 1500C~1800C. (I.D: 44mm x OD: 50 mm x 1200 mm length). Attention: carrier gas flow rate should be strictly controlled @ 100SCCM or less.
  • Mullite tube (I.D: 44mm x OD: 50 mm x 1398 mm length) is included for continuous operation up to 1500C. Benefits from its high thermal shock resistivity, it can endure a max. carrier gas flows rate @ 200SCCM.
Sealing Flanges
& Fittings
  • Left sealing flange with 1/4'' feedthrough, needle valve and mechanical pressure gauge. A 1/4'' O.D x 17'' L alumina tube is inserted into the main chamber. It can deliver the aerosol to the hot zone directly. 
  • Right KF50 quick disconnect flange provides direct coupling for the electrostatic precipitator. Water cooling feature can be added with additional fee applied.
        
Aerosol Generation Utrasonic Enhanced Bubbler

  • 110VAC, 2.4 MHz Ultrasonic Generator
  • Fluoropolymer coated liquid container and Fluoropolymer sealing gaskets
  • external Fluoropolymer optical sensor and valve for keeping the liquid level to the correct height and preventing damage to the nebulizing element, should the unit run dry.
  • Ultrasonic power programmable,0~100%, 5% increment.
  • 304 Stainless Steel T-piece (1.5'' sanitary fitting) with 1/4'' tube fitting adapters enables the use of carrier gas.
Mass Flow Controller

  • A MFC is employed to control the carrier gas flow rate. It is very important that the gas flow must be controlled <100SCCM in order to minimize the thermal shock impact on the furnace tube. 
Condensing Liquid Collector

  • 316 stainless steel made container, 150ml
  • Two SS needle valves with 1/4" Tube Fittings
  • The cap is attached to the body with quick disconnect clamp. This allows easy removal of components for cleaning
Nanopowder Collection

  • Digital Voltmeter and Current meter, 30KV, 0.5mA max.
  • Output voltage and current can be set by using knobs on the front panel and read from the digital display
  • Constant current/Constant Voltage mode of operation

Tubular Electrostatic Precipitator
  • Negtive charged circular mesh plate and Positive charged 1'' O.D x 170mmL Al tube collector are built into a transparent 2'' O.D x 450mm L-quartz tube
  • The use of KF50 quick clamp and flange enables the quick coupling to the furnace processing tube
  • Adjustable balance supports keep the collector leveled with the furnace tube

Application Notes

  • The system with alumina tube is designed for using under 1ATM 
  • Never use graphite crucible in alumina tube.
  • A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas cylinder to limit the pressure to below 3 PSI for safe operation. Click here to learn the installation of a gas regulator.
  • Never heat the furnace while the gas release valve is closed and a positive pressure condition exists within the furnace chamber. The pressure gauge must be used to closely monitor the chamber condition at all times during the heating process; please open the gas release valve immediately once the chamber pressure has reached over 3 PSI to prevent unforeseeable damages.
  • The flow rate for gases should be limited to < 100 SCCM (alumina tube); <200SCCM (mullite tube)
