Product Options

Induction Heater:
  EQ-VTC-200S is a benchtop vacuum melt spinning system for preparing amorphous metallic ribbons. In this technique, metal ingots are melted via induction heating method and then propelled by overpressurizing the crucible. A thin stream of molten is then dropped onto a fast moving surface of a cold copper drum. This causes rapid quenching & solidification of the molten and thus form the ribbon ( < 10 mm width) of the liquid metal alloy.
  The system features an SS air-tight chamber with a front observation window. A turbo backed by dual stage oil pump is optional for achieving high vacuum up to 10^-4 Pa. The unit provides inlet and outlet valves for inert gas purging. This helps to protect samples from moisture or oxygen exposure during the melt spinning process. The user can also control the RPM of the drum, induction heating power, temperature and pressure applied to the crucible.

  • The optional 7 KW, 15KW or 20KW induction heating system for treating different materials with different melting points with 10 - 20g Max melting capability based on the melting point  and viscosity of melton.

  • Vacuum casting attachment is included as a great add-on to make casting part.

For 7 KW Induction Heater:
  • Input Voltage: 208 - 240VAC, Single-Phase, 50/60Hz
  • Input Current: 34 Amp (Min. 40A breaker required)
  • Frequency: 30 - 80 kHz
           
For 15KW Induction Heater:
  • Input Voltage: 208 - 240 VAC Three-Phases
  • Input Current: 42 Amp (Min. 50A breaker required)
  • Frequency: 30 - 80 kHz
              
For 20KW Induction Heater:
  • Input Voltage: 208 - 240 VAC Three-Phases
  • Input Current: 5-60 Amp (Min. 80A breaker required)
  • Frequency: 80 - 200 kHz
Control Station
  
  • All functional controls in one digital panel: Temperature & induction power control, copper drum spinning speed & ON/OFF, Mechanical & Turbo Pump ON/OFF, solenoid valves for pump isolation and gas purging, Melt-Spinning ON/OFF.  
Vacuum Chamber

  • Stainless steel vacuum chamber: 300×300×480 mm
  • Hinged type door with quartz observation window (120mm dia.),
  • Vacuum level:  5 x10 E-5 torr within 30 minutes by turbo pump. 
  • KF40 vacuum port is built to the chamber.  You may choose a vacuum pump according to your application at the link below:

Induction Heater

  • Please choose Induction Heater from the options bar.
  • Max. sample load: 5 - 20g (material melting point < 1000°C). Note: for materials with melting point>1200°C,  20KW induction power supply is highly recommended.
  • Max.WorkingTemperature:   1800°C
  • Temperature controller with Thermal couple is optional upon request at extra cost 
    • A precision temperature controller is integrated with B type TC (24'' long) insert inside the heating crucible.
    • 30 segments temperature profile programmable with +/- 2°C accuracy
  • Note: Water cooling for the induction heater is needed. Recommend model# EQ-KJ-6200 if facility water is not available.
Crucibles
     
  • Two quartz crucible with 1mm dia. nozzle will be included for testing material which melting point lower 1200oC. 
  • Customized crucibles made of quartz, alumina or BN is available upon request at extra cost .
  • Material testing melt spun is available , otherwise we use NbFeB as standard material for testing before shipping.     
  • Note:  Please be advised that it is not every material that can be spun.  In order to melt spun sucessfully,  material melton must has suitable viscosity.  It is customer responsibility to fins right composition, crucible size and power supply.
Gas Pressure Regulator & Solenoid Valves

  • PID pressure regulator is included for precisely control the gas pressure applied to the crucible in order to propel the molten out from the nozzle. Please refer to the picture on the left to see the device.
  • Gas driven solenoid valves are used for isolating the pumps from the chamber when not used, chamber purging and pressure relief.  
Spinning Wheel

  • Copper flywheel without water cooling ( 200 mm Dia. x 40 mm W )
  • 0 - 31 meter / second (2850RPM max.) adjustable
  • Max. Speed:  3000 RPM
  • Max.Ribbon width:12 mm   ( depended on the nozzle of crucible )   
  • Water cold wheel is available upon request at extra cost
