OTF-1200X-S5-PGEP is a verticle 5'' ultrasonic spray pyrolysis tube furnace designed for nano, core-shell structured particle synthesis. Three major modules (Ultrasonic Enhanced Bubbler, Tube Furnace, and wet scrubber) are employed on three processing steps including aerosol generation, thermal decomposition, and nanopowder collection. Such a system enables advanced synthetic method that provides control over particle size, morphology, nano/microstructure.

SPECIFICATIONS
System Structure
  • Aerosol Generation: 2.4MHz Ultrasonic Enhanced Bubbler can "evaporate" catalyst liquid with literally no heat generated. A stainless steel liquid collector connects inline with the ultrasonic bubble can prevent condensing liquid from streaming into the furnace tube chamber. 
  • Thermal Decomposition: Tube Furnace can be heated up to 1200C maximum. By passing the droplets flux across the temperature and atmosphere regulated firing zone, chemical, and physical conversion processes proceed.  
  • Nanopowder Collection: 1000ml wet precipitator can effectively collect nano size particles from the carrier gas flow

Temperature Controller

Processing Tube & Flanges
  • One pair of SS 304 vacuum flange with double high-temperature silicone O-ring is Included. (without support fixture )( click pic left for detail ).
    • KF25 port is built in right side flange to connect a vacuum pump.
    • Vacuum gauge, gas inlet valve, and  spare 1/4 thermal couple feedthrough are built in left side flange.
  • Vacuum level can reach 10-2torr (by a mechanical pump).
Sealing Flanges

  • Top sealing flange with KF50 port which can be directly connected to the ultrasonic atomizer via flexible bellows.  
  • Bottom flange with 1/4'' tube fitting for delivering particles to the wet collector via 1/4 tube.

Utrasonic Enhanced Bubbler

  • 110VAC, 2.4 MHz Ultrasonic Generator
  • Fluoropolymer coated liquid container and Fluoropolymer sealing gaskets
  • External Fluoropolymer optical sensor and valve for keeping the liquid level to the correct height 
  • Ultrasonic power programmable,0~100%, 5% increment.
  • 304 Stainless Steel T-piece (1.5'' sanitary fitting) with 1/4'' tube fitting adapters enables the use of carrier gas.
Wet Particle Collector

  • The nano-particles will carried by the gas stream into the liquid solvent where particle suspection liquid is formed. Such liquid can be evaporated for the final powder collection.

Application Notes

  • The system with alumina tube is designed for using under 1ATM 
  • A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas cylinder to limit the pressure to below 3 PSI for safe operation. Click here to learn the installation of a gas regulator.
  • Never heat the furnace while the gas release valve is closed and a positive pressure condition exists within the furnace chamber. The pressure gauge must be used to closely monitor the chamber condition at all times during the heating process; please open the gas release valve immediately once the chamber pressure has reached over 3 PSI to prevent unforeseeable damages.
