MTI Suuplys highquality  textured  single domain YBCO Disk 50 mm dia X 15 mm height .   Superconducting single domain YBaCuO levitation disks with ability to trap magnetic field exhibit considerable levitation force. They are used (in combination with strong permanent magnets) in self-stabilizing frictionless magnetic bearings of very low friction. Other shapes can also be cut from the basic bulk.  Superconducting single domain YBaCuO levitation disks are perfect for energy storage fly wheel.

Maganatic Trapped field Profile

With 2 Tesla applied, the maximum trapped field on the top (seed side) was 1.1 Tesla. Measurements are in mm.

Measured with combination of NdFeB permanent magnet of 0.5 T surface magnetic field. Magnet diameter and height 30 mm. The levitation force is extrapolated to zero distance

 

Note: YBCO is very sensitive to moisture, and must be stored in desiccator box.
