Whole set  pressing die includes:
  • Double layer structure 3" dry pressing die
    • One 3" I.D. die is inside, made of hardened steel and highly polished with hardness Rc 60 - 62.
    • One stainless steel sleeve is in outside to protect die from cracking.
    • Two pushing rods highly polished and perfectly fitted into die.
    • Two steel support plates.
    • One opened steel cylinder for releasing out sample.
    • Max Compressive Pressure: 500T.
  • Height: 2 3/8" (60 mm)
  • Diameter: 4 3/4" (120mm)
  • Shipping Weight: 22 Lbs

 
Caution:
  • Please must always wear protection goggles during operation !!!
  • Please use alcohol to clean the pressing die every time before use and store it in a dry place with antirust oil after operation to avoid rusting on the surface, because all pressing dies are made by high-stretched carbon steel for achieving high hardness to meet essential requirements of making ceramic or metal samples. Otherwise, the pressing surface could probably get scratched.

How to make sample pellet?

  • Mixing and grinding chemical powder by agate mortar
  • Calcine the mixed powder in a high temp furnace under suitable temperature
  • Grind the calcined powder again by mortar
  • Put calcined powder in to the die
  • Press the sample by a pressing machine under suitable pressure
  • Take out pellet sample from die
  • Sinter the pellet under suitable temperature
  • Then, a new material sample is formed!
