EQ-VTC-W100 is a lab scale high vacuum wire  melt spinning system to prepare amorphous metallic wire < 20 micron diameter via induction heating and rapid quenching on a special designed spinning copper drum.


  • The system consists of the vacuum chamber with turbo pump, induction heating with vacuum casting device and spinning wheel with max. 70 meter /sec. spinning speed
  • Can melt metallic sample around 10 - 100 g per batch.up to 2000oC
Power Requirements
  • Input Voltage: 208 - 240V AC, Three Phases
  • Input Power: 20 KW ( 70A breaker required)
Vacuum Chamber
Vacuum pump
  • Vacuum chamber: 400 mm  diameter  x 350 mm L
  • Hinged type door with quartz glass observation window
  • Built in mechanical pump and turbo pump
  • Can achieve 5 x10 E-5 torr within 30 minutes
  • Limited. vacuum level 10E-7 torr ( with baking )
Induction Heater
  • Dual Station 35KW Induction Heater 
  • Crucible: Ф15×50mm
  • Max. sample load: around 10 - 50g ( Fe)
Spinning wheel

  • Flying wheel made of  Oxygen Free Copper with dimension φ220×30mm
  • 0 - 70 meter / second adjustable
Wire ( silk)  diameter
  • Wire (silk) diameter is dependable on materail
  • For Fe base alloy  usually can achieve <100 micron diameter
  •    FeSiBNbCu alloy amorphous wire in about 50 micron diameter

  • Water chiller > 58 L/min
  • Mian Unit:    2600X900mm
