EQ-Die-25S is a Complete pressing die set to make a 25 mm x 25 mm square sample pellet.

Whole set pressing die includes
  • One 1.0" Square core die made of hardened steel and highly polished with hardness HRC 60 - 62.
  • Polished steel
  • One steel sleeve for core die protection
  • Two pushing rods (They are 12 mm and 50 mm long separately) highly polished and perfectly fitted into the die.
  • Two steel support plates
  • One steel cylinder for releasing out the sample.
  • Max. Load: 30 metric Ton (at room temperature)

  • Please click the link below to see our demonstration video of using the pressing die with round pressing core. The operation procedure of 1'' square pressing die is the same as the round pressing die.  
Attention

  1. The difference between round and square die is that the square pressing core can only be inserted into the die cavity in just one orientation. Once you received the die, please try different direction until you can fully insert the pressing core.
  2. Due to manufacture process technology, the surface of this square version is a little rougher than round die.
  3. Due to the stress concentration near the corners, the core die may easliy break if the pushing rods are subject to off-center compression. This product is NOT covered by warranty.
Cautions
  • Please must always wear protection goggles during operation !!!
  • The pressing die cannot be used for pressing powder with the particle size < 30 microns. Small particles may slip into the gap between pushing rod and steel sleeve and cause damages to the sleeve during the compression. Ball mill and sieve the powder and apply only the 32~75 microns powder to the pressing die to avoid the damages. Please consider using the 3'' Dia. Sieve Set No.200&450 Mesh to separate the 32~75 microns particles from the powder clumps. Please clean the mold via ethanol after the completion of each experiment.
             
  • Please use alcohol to clean the pressing die every time before use and store it in a dry place with antirust oil after the operation to avoid rusting on the surface, because all pressing dies are made by high-stretched carbon steel for achieving high hardness to meet essential requirements of making ceramic or metal samples. Otherwise, the pressing surface could probably get scratched.
  • To avoid damaging the die core and sleeve, we strongly recommend you use the professional laboratory hydraulic presses which ensure the most even pressing interface and uniform pressure force.
  • For pressing sticky metal powders such as Al, Mg, Zn, it is necessary to use dry or alcohol-based tool lubricant to lubricate the die and sleeve set to reduce friction during the compression. 
  • Do not press flammable, explosive materials.
